25 May

Daemonia Nymphe (Δαιμόνια Νύμφη) is a Greek pagan folk band .

The band uses musical instruments like lyra, varvitos, krotala, pandoura and double flute made by the famous Greek master Nicholas Brass to recreat an Ancient Greek style music that could be categorized as ethereal, neoclassical, neofolk or gothic.

They were formed in 1994 by Spyros Giasafakis and Evi Stergiou and released their first album through the French label Prikosnovenie.

The band is composed on stage by  3 singing female nymphs and 3 musicians, recreating the atmosphere of a Greek tribe singing Orphic and Homeric hymns and Sappho’s poems for Zeus or Hekate.

So far, Daemonia Nymphe released 5 albums: The Bacchic Dance of the Nymphs (1998), Tyrvasia (1999), Daemonia Nymphe (2002),  The Bacchic Dance of the Nymphs – Tyrvasia (2004), Krataia Asterope (2007).

Now, the Daemonia Nymphe “La nuit des fees” DVD is out!

Features video clip shot by the French director Mallory Grolleau (Animals Production) and live performance in France (Clisson).
Also includes performances from Italian “Corde Oblique” and Bulgarian “Djama“.
