The dark sound of Amáutica

01 Feb

Recently I discovered a very interesting band called Amáutica.

Formed towards the end of 2008 in Llavallol’s City,Buenos Aires,Argentina, Amáutica is a duo who were integrated by drummer, Romina Dusk, and writer, narrator and novelist, Eugenio J. Caceres, aka “The Guru“, in guitar and vocals.

“The Guru” combined his interest in literature with rock music, and this is how he met Romina.  He shared his idea of giving shape to melodies that came to him during a period in which he felt imprisoned by writing.  After two years of intense trials and tribulations in search of their own unique sound, a series of songs arose.  They found references to several of his favorite writers which were esoterically themed with simple and direct melodies… arrangements of concrete and powerful rock… of which Romina contributed the bass.

In late 2010 they finished their first independent production, “El Oscuro Toque de lo Impersonal“, which Sombrati Records began promoting in July, 2011.  Then, in December, 2011, they released the single, “Por Lágrimas Sangre” in collaboration with Oskar Terramortis (with his project, The Bizarre Blue Spectre).  In January, 2012, they released the video for this song.

They are currently working on their next album.
