Iceland is famous (apart from Bjork) for post-rock and post-electronica bands, playing in flats and bookshops. Legend do not seem to follow that movement; they are dedicated to industrial, EBM and whatever makes your chest bump to. Krummi Björgvinsson and Halldór Björnsson formed Legend, taken the name from Ridley Scott’s 1985 fantasy movie which fits perfectly their perspective about music.
“Fearless” is the band’s debut and can be considered as a guide to electronic industrial music with roots back to the 80’s electro. The heavy bass synth tunes are the backbone of the compositions covered by dark vocals ending to a chilly and spooky result such as their mother land’s landscapes. A listen to “Amazon War” or “Devil in Me” is enough to introduce straight to the Scandinavian mythology and a route through glaciers and volcanoes.
