Dead Eyes Opened – Tyrants

20 Jun

Dead Eyes Opened is trio from Edinburgh, hanging around since 1994. However, they had to wait until 2009 to release their first ep “The Submission”. One can easily categorize them under the industrial etiquette, yet they comfortably move from EBM and darksynth to goth pop, post punk and maybe metal. Therefore do not get suprised if you confuse their Depeche Mode influence along with Paradise Lost’s riffs and Killing Joke’s nobility.

“Tyrants” is DEO’s first descent album and it is quite interesting not only for its uplifting vibes but also for it’s own diversity. The band is harvesting from the best and the yield is fresh and tasty. From the massive “Tyrant’s Day” which is the album’s intro, to the aggressive “Subission”, this band gives its best. And this effort will lead them directly to the Goth Hall of Fame.
