Salvation AMP are a post-punk/gothic rock trio coming from Germany, the place where gothic rock has established strong foundations in the past two decades. Unlike recent bands coming from this area of Europe, this band refuses to use keyboards and rythm boxes and prefers to play good old school goth rock, the kind that could make the Sisters of Mercy and Fields of the Nephilim fans happy. Ahh, and the Chameleon ones.
“Hidden Faces” pays tribute to the history of dark wave the way it was created back to mid 80’s in the british islands and it does it well often with a touch of psychedelic tunes easily recognized by the use of compressor pedals. The voice of Christ-Ian is perfectly crafted on the vocal trails of Andrew William Harvey Taylor and Carl McCoy providing the element that seals the band’s approach to that specific genre.
