After a long absence from the Athens scene, New Zero God has wrapped up their latest release and is ready to return to the place which offers many memories of exhilaration.
This Friday, 27 May, 2016, New Zero God will take the stage at Death Disco where they’ll perform songs from their newest release, “Short Tales & Tall Shadows“. Of course, no show would be complete without favorite songs of the past!
“Short Tales & Tall Shadows”, the band’s latest effort is receiving great reviews from Greek and international music press:
“…The band have made a bold move with ‘Short Tales & Tall Shadows’ and it has paid off in a big way. The songwriting, the performances and the execution are spot on. Hopefully this will be a path the band continues to explore moving forward.” – Intravenous Magazine – UK
“…This is an amazing album full of atmosphere, passion and feeling as the music drags you off to somewhere dark and bleak!” – Tomatrax – Australia
“…For those that have enjoyed this band’s past two albums, you’ll absolutely love this one as well but keep in mind, these guys have created an album unlike any of their previous releases.” – Subexistance – Greece
“9” – Metal Hammer Magazine – Greece
Taken from New Zero God’s latest release, this video was made by Valerios Calocerinos (Left As In Sinister, This Gentle Flow, Lemon Avenue, ex-IKON). It premiered online on Terra Relicta magazine on March 30. Come, take a peek!
Releasing the album on CD format wasn’t enough for the band.
“Short Tales and Tall Shadows” was also released on a limited vinyl edition of 200 black and 150 red copies.
The two editions are having some differences:
While the CD release holds 10 tracks, the vinyl has only 9.
The two releases share 6 tracks in common while the songs “Cloud of Dreams“, “Bastards“, “She’s Electrified” and “Ouroboros” appear only on the CD and not on the vinyl, which holds the extra tracks “Pen Like A Knife“, “Tarot Card Reader” and “Lullaby“.
Singer of the band, Mike Pougounas went on a string of interviews with radios and e-zines (you can watch online one of them HERE – English language).
Stavros Bekkas, shared this: The Greatest Gothic / post-punk band in the country, New Zero God, were found in the studio of Afrodelia and talked to us about their new album, the upcoming concert at Death Disco and many more! Listen HERE (Greek language).
But apart from that, the band also appears in a new book about the Greek dark scene.
It covers the era 2010-2015, and is titled “Return of the Bats”, which is the continuation of “Release the Bats” by author Nick Drivas.
The book comes with a free CD compilation of 18 Greek bands and New Zero God participate with a special remix of the song “Shut Up” manipulated by English DJ Cruel Britannia, co-founder of World Goth Day.
