Yesterday’s Favourite (A Tribute to Talk Talk)

07 May

Although TALK TALK began in 1981 as a synth-pop band, it was their eventual shift to a more experimental style that helped pave the way for the post-rock movement.

Formed by Mark Hollis (vocals, guitar, piano), Lee Harris (drums), Paul Webb (bass), and Simon Brenner (keyboards), TALK TALK traveled deeply into exploration with a willingness to abandon traditional structures.

To this day, many artists cite them as an important influence.

To honor the mighty TALK TALK, Coitus Interruptus Productions and Yvette Winkler present ‘Yesterday’s Favourite (A Tribute to Talk Talk),’ a compilation available exclusively on Bandcamp (free of charge or “Pay What You Want” to help support future releases).

Mastered by Jasyn Bangert (God Module), this tribute includes 16 tracks from eclectic underground warriors such as The Blue Hour, Johnny Tupolev, The Mystic Underground, NØIR, Silver Walks, SØLVE, Terminal, VEiiLA and many more!

Lastly, the cover art is an interpretative reimagining in the style of James Marsh, whose art was an essential part of the TALK TALK legacy.
