PALES ✦ new video clip – “1518”

PALES release a frenetic new single, “1518“, inspired by indus, noise rock and techno. Following on from their debut EP released in November 2022, the Strasbourg quintet deliver a raw, frontal track here.

The song echoes the dance fever that broke out in Strasbourg in July 1518. Dance as the only outlet possessed and ravaged bodies. Doubts persist as to the origin of this event, which seems to have been Strasbourg’s first rave party.

Directed by Emma Depres, assisted by Alexandre Korman, the clip, shot in Strasbourg and then edited in Berlin, revisits this collective trance through chaotic dancing and scathing images.
